Technical Support to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) and Provincial Health Training Centers (PHTCs)

SISo Nepal plays a vital role in strengthening the capacity of health institutions and service providers by providing technical support to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) and Provincial Health Training Centers (PHTCs). Our goal is to enhance the planning and implementation of high-quality, comprehensive Adolescent Friendly Health Services (AFHS) including the adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) services across Nepal.

Key Technical Contributions:

  • Developing orientation package on ASRH and FP for the capacity building of School Health Nurses to educate the adolescent students on ASRH and FP; and services including in rolling out the package.
  • Facilitating the orientation, ToTs and trainings to School Health Nurses on ASRH and FP.
  • Developing and implementing Quality Improvement & Certification Tool (guideline).
  • Developing key ASRH training materials, including the ASRH Reference Manual, Facilitator’s Guide, Participants’ Handbook.
  • Conducting Training of Trainers (ToTs) and Service Provider Trainings to strengthen the capacity of healthcare professionals.
  • Providing technical support in developing and rolling out the National ASRH Program Implementation Guideline, including process evaluation of the ASRH program pilot (MoHP/FHD).
  • Developing Social Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) materials on ASRH.
  • Assisting MoHP/FHD in organizing the National Symposium on Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Services, facilitating multi-sectoral dialogue and policy discussions.

Through these strategic efforts, SISo Nepal remains committed to enhancing adolescent-friendly health services and ensuring sustainable improvements in Nepal’s sexual and reproductive health landscape.
