SISo Nepal Technical Support to MoEST, ETCs, and Local Governments

SISo Nepal provides technical support to the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology (MoEST), the Center for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD), Educational Training Centers (ETCs), and local governments to strengthen the implementation of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) in Nepal’s education system.

Key Technical Contributions:

Developing training materials: Supported to CEHRD (formerly NCED) in designing a CSE training package and a mentoring and coaching guideline to enhance teachers’ capacity in delivering CSE.
Capacity-building programs: Provided technical support to CEHRD/MoEST and ETCs in conducting Training of Trainers (ToTs) on CSE, teacher training, and onsite mentoring and coaching for teachers and adolescent peer educators.
Establishing Adolescent-Friendly Information Corners (AFICs) in schools to provide students with accessible, youth-friendly resources on sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Supporting local governments in developing CSE curricula and teaching materials, ensuring culturally sensitive and contextually appropriate content.

Through these initiatives, SISo Nepal provided its technical support to MoEST to strengthening CSE implementation at the national and local levels, strengthening CSE delivery in Nepal’s education system, equipping educators and adolescents with comprehensive, rights-based sexual and reproductive health education to empowering young people with comprehensive, rights-based, age-appropriate, and inclusive sexuality education, fostering a safer and gender-equitable learning environment in Nepal.
