As a pioneer organization in Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) in Nepal, SISo Nepal has made significant contributions to the field by developing the country’s first Teachers’ Capacity Building Package, which includes a Teachers’ Resource Material, Trainers’ Guide, and Participants’ Handbook, along with a Mentoring and Coaching Guideline, Curriculums and textbooks on CSE. These resources were developed in alignment with the International Technical Guidance on Sexuality Education (ITGSE), in close collaboration with the Centre for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD) of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology (MoEST), with financial and technical support from UNFPA.
In addition to resource development, SISo Nepal has conducted a series of Training of Trainers (ToTs), teachers’ training, and peer educator (CSE Champions) training programs to strengthen CSE delivery in Nepal. Furthermore, we have actively engaged in advocacy initiatives, conducting dialogues and orientations with local and provincial government authorities, elected representatives, school principals, school health nurses, education policymakers, media representatives and federal level parliamentarians. These efforts, carried out in collaboration with NCED/CEHRD of MoEST and with UNFPA’s technical and financial support, aim to institutionalize and enhance the implementation of CSE across Nepal.
